“Photography has been a passion of mine since 2016. It started as a hobby to help me unwind during a tough time, and a simple class turned into a deep love for capturing nature.

I’m originally from Brazil and moved to Calgary in 2019 with my husband, Higor, and our dog, Luna, in search of a better life.

Nature is where I feel most free— it helps me let go of my worries, appreciate the little things, and discover gratitude and life’s everyday miracles. Through photography, I embark on external and internal journeys, finding peace and purpose along the way.”

“I’m Caroline, but most people call me Carrie. I’m a proud mom to a bright, beautiful little girl named Rosetta.

We love calling Calgary home and spend much of our time outdoors, exploring the city’s many parks. Whether it’s biking, river floating, cross-country skiing or hiking, connecting with nature is a strongly held value and essential to good health.

Photography has always been a passion, but it took on even greater meaning with motherhood. I enjoy capturing people in natural landscapes, using light to create timeless images.”

“Photography became my hobby while I was creating content in my marketing and communication career, and it quickly became a passion that drives me today.

I love taking portraits that help people see their true beauty. There’s something magical about capturing someone’s essence that makes them fall in love with themselves.

I’m also a car enthusiast, fascinated by everything, from their design to the stories they tell. Exploring Calgary’s parks, where I often do Pilates and outdoor shoots, inspires me to capture their natural beauty.”

“I’m a born-and-raised Calgarian with a love for the outdoors, a good beer, and the Calgary Flames.

As a geologist, I have a great appreciation for the natural spaces in our city and beyond. I love finding clues to the natural history of the area in the landscape, public spaces and even downtown buildings.

Somewhat of a weekend warrior, you can usually find me hiking, backpacking, playing soccer and pickleball, or hitting a patio (that counts as ‘outdoors’ right!?).

With a little one on the way, I’m excited to explore more local parks and find new favourite spots closer to home, while sharing my adventures along the way!”

“I’ve always been a lover of nature. Hikes in the mountains and walks to my local parks always interested me.

I’m a big believer in movement and immersing oneself outside with the birds, mountains and trees. It’s always been the most effective way to get myself out of a funk — plus, I’ve always felt at home and at my happiest exploring the outdoors.

I take a wide range of photos and videos, from random to mysterious to scenic. I like contemplating my thoughts and feelings before I post anything.

I’m an HR professional grinding the infamous 9-to-5 job, striving to live healthy, outdoor-based lifestyle. I also love physical activities, sports, and honing my creative side with crafts.”

“I’m an outdoor enthusiast! During the summer, you can find me on a hike, paddleboarding, road biking, or exploring the city. During the winter I love cross-country skiing and ice skating. I also enjoy being curled up with a good book and a cup of tea.

I’ve always loved photography, it’s my favourite way to capture moments to look back on. I’m passionate about being behind the camera, taking photos of nature or candid shots of people.

I have a diploma in Social Work and a passion for working with youth and children.

In my free time, I love travelling and am always planning my next trip! Whether it be a weekend trip to Canmore or an international trip, I’m always ready for my next adventure.”

“The outdoors is our learning space, our playground and our responsibility — this is the framework in which I raise my three boys as we interact with our outdoor environment.

Being new-ish to Calgary, we’ve been having a blast discovering our trails and outdoor spaces in the city. I capture our moments of everyday exploration. As a teacher, I love how nature creates amazing learning opportunities.

When we’re not out on the trails and playgrounds around the city or ferrying around for hockey or football, I enjoy knitting and baking (especially sourdough).”

“I’m a woman of many titles! Wife, mom, pet parent, business owner, photographer…. now Parks of Calgary Ambassador.

I’ve captured life’s moments with my camera for many years, but 12 years ago I became passionate about photography as art. My journey has led to capturing nature’s beautiful landscapes and details.

Spending time in natural spaces (trees, gardens or near water) rejuvenates me. My two favourite local spots are Reader Rock Garden and Carburn Park.

I also love to create in other mediums — sew/quilt, crochet, embroider, even watercolour (I always have a project on the go). Plus, I enjoy hiking, biking, golfing, flower gardening and watching birds from my deck with a coffee or cocktail.”

“Do you have a favourite bird? Mine is the chickadee, that cute, curious bird you can hear singing throughout Calgary (chickadee-dee-dee). Our city is full of amazing wildlife!

As a science communicator, wildlife biologist and photographer, I’m excited to share my love of nature with this community. I focus on wildlife and event photography, and also make short educational films about nature!

I love all the parks and greenspaces we have in Calgary, and you can often find me biking around the city with my camera in tow. There are many amazing outdoor spaces here — I really love Fish Creek and North Glenmore Park!”

“I’d spend my whole day outside if I could. Daily you’ll find me walking, hiking, trail running, backpacking, wildcrafting or sitting in a park waiting for sunset with my camera — no matter the season.

I’m an herbalist, massage therapist, photographer, cinematographer and local business content creator & manager. I’m a queer mother of two teen girls, an aspiring mountaineer and a recovering rockhound.

Camera out, I enjoy capturing the simple and vast moments in nature that remind us we’re part of something much bigger than ourselves.

“I primarily shoot nature and landscapes, but I’m always willing to point my lens at anything that captures my attention.

My love of photography has helped me appreciate our natural environments, and I’m frequently amazed at how lucky we are to live in a city that prioritizes natural spaces.

Spending time immersed in nature has become essential and never fails to rejuvenate me. I have the most supportive family encouraging my art, and are patient with me and my camera!”

“Photography is a major passion of mine, and I love the combination of taking pictures and exploring new areas. It’s just so fun to be outside and find natural beauty in the every day.

I frequently visit North Glenmore Park and Prince’s Island Park. But all of our parks are so beautiful in Calgary, it’s difficult to narrow it down!

I currently work as a full-time photographer, but I love to bake, dance and exercise when I’m not out and about taking pictures of our city.”

“I’ve hidden behind a camera for longer than I can remember. Art has endless forms, and it’s difficult to describe what it means to me.

Coming from a creative, ‘do-it-yourself’ family, I’m primarily self-taught. My willingness to get dirty allows me to play and get the shots I want; whether in a sparkling clean room, or laying in mud.

Thank you from my black little heart for your support and patience while I slowly put my work out there. It’s taken me a long time to gather the courage to do so.”

“I’ve loved photography since I got my first digital camera back in the early 2000s. I filled the memory card regularly with photos of our farm, my family and the cats.

I didn’t pursue photography professionally, but I regularly photograph my adventures in the city, the mountains and around the world. Griffith Woods and Bowness Park might be my favorite nearby refuges.

Now I run a boutique marketing and copywriting agency, using words to fulfill my creative outlet. But I have no doubt I may venture down the professional photography route at some point in the future…”

“Photography is both a hobby and a passion of mine. I fell in love when I got my first camera while living in England and started photographing the beautiful, lush green English countryside landscapes.

Equally beautiful and lovely are the parks of Calgary. It’s hard to pick favourites but if pressed, I would choose Nose Hill Park, Bowmont Park, Bowness Park and North Glenmore Park.

I’m a scientist, photographer, husband and father of two awesome little boys. I was born in Mexico, and I love cycling, swimming, reading, photography and, of course, exploring the outdoors.”

“Photography has saved my life. I found it when I was at a crossroads and didn’t know what to do next. It led me to using my creativity and then signing up for a marketing and graphic design program.

After completing a photography certificate, I started taking basic photos, followed by portrait photography, before falling in love with landscapes and flowers. So naturally, my favourite places to visit in the summer are the Silver Springs Botanical Gardens and Prince’s Island Park.

We’re so lucky to live this close to incredible hiking trails and parks here and around the city!”

“My love of photography started when I moved to Calgary from New Brunswick back in 2010 to share my new life with family back home.

I Iove exploring all of our Calgary parks and the mountains too. Photographing and hiking allowed me to meet people, explore new places, and make Alberta my home.

I also love snowshoeing and running. In Calgary, you can find me exploring Carburn Park and Bowness Park.”

“Living in Calgary most of my life, I spend my days teaching culinary arts at a high school, enjoying all of our biking trails and photographing almost anything that catches my eye.

I enjoy capturing shots with reflective water, night-time images and macro photography.

I’ve come to believe that it’s not always the main subject that is interesting, but sometimes all the little crunchy bits around it.”

“I’m incredibly passionate about taking a “wholehearted” approach to food, fitness and lifestyle.

When I’m not cooking in the kitchen or working out, you can find me out with my camera, strapping on my skates for a pick-up hockey game or curled up with a good book.

My little family is made complete with my husband Willy, and our two cats, Lilly and Pippin.”

“I’m an amateur photographer originally from Scotland and currently based in Lower Mount Royal.

I’m self-taught with a background in architecture and urban planning, hence my passion for photographing buildings, places, spaces and the people who occupy them!

Some of my favorite Calgary parks include River Park, Rotary Park and Lindsay Park.”

“I work as an economist but my passion is photography. I shoot on a Canon 7D and Rebel.

I love nature photography the most because this passion enables me to escape the office and get outdoors. This is where I can seek adventure and be creative.

I’ve lived in Calgary since the late ’90s, and my favorite parks are North Glenmore Park and the Douglas Fir Trail.”
