"It’s SO exciting to find people who appreciate all the same things you do, and that’s exactly what I’ve found through the Parks of Calgary community.
The never-ending ideas and places to explore shared through this group has kept me motivated to get outside, go for walks, and keep poking around in Calgary's natural green spaces. There are so many places that I never would have known about if I wasn’t connected with this group — so I’m always checking back in for more!"

"I visited Nose Hill many times over the past 8 years living in Calgary and only just discovered this park's hidden gems — all thanks to this community.
I’ve always been outdoorsy, so I started exploring when I moved here. But I was so happy to come across Parks of Calgary — I refer to their Instagram and emails for inspiration all the time! They’re always sharing tips and suggestions to explore parks I’ve rarely visited (and found some real gems). Their challenges are super motivating too! Parks of Calgary is AWESOME."

"I've been following Parks of Calgary since 2019, and I still check-in with them daily. I really love this community Kelsey is creating.
Their content is always positive, encouraging for all levels of physical ability and ages. They helped me explore new places and keep taking those walks, helping me experience nature in a myriad of ways. Their Instagram account is a go-to, especially during the pandemic.
The Spring Motivation Guide was so helpful and packed with great content, including a unique spring bingo card. Kelsey also runs month-long movement challenges that are incredibly motivating, and fun to both follow and participate in. They’ve been a major element of my self-care over the years.
It’s this kind of creativity that has kept me engaged over the years, and why I continually invite others to join in. I love the fun, creative, easy ways Kelsey encourages me and others to get outside and participate — I’m here for it."

"I spotted the northern lights for the first time in my LIFE, thanks to Parks of Calgary.
I saw their post on Instagram, so I went out on my balcony before bed, and they were there! I couldn’t believe it, they were so beautiful! I give Parks of Calgary complete credit for this, and I’m so grateful for the experience."

"Even as a lifelong Calgarian, I found a unique park that I never knew existed using Parks Of Calgary!"
If you’re looking for that new (to you) park or more information about any of our local outdoor spaces, this is your go-to source. They have everything you need for a great day out in our city!"

"After living in Calgary for 8 years now, this is the FIRST community that’s helped keep my sanity intact!
Coming from a tropical country with bewitching beaches, believe me, Parks of Calgary is the one who kept me inspired to continue exploring and do more. I always check their pages for new local suggestions, new parks to explore and conquer, and tips on where to see wildlife all over our city. As Millard Fuller said, "For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other."
And Parks of Calgary is just that — a family who looks after your whole well-being. They motivate you to be a better version of yourself. They encourage you to take the extra mile and look after your physical and mental health by simply going outside and appreciating our beautiful parks (the easier and cheaper way, in my opinion)."

"I first came across Parks of Calgary on Instagram when my husband and I decided to join the first #yycwalkingchallenge back in November 2021.
We both needed a distraction — my physical health was poor due to a major health event, plus our mental health and spirits were low due to pandemic isolation. Once we started the challenge, we looked forward to our walk of the day and visiting the park of the week.
Although we're both born and raised Calgarians, thet told us about parks and green spaces that we'd never been to. We both really enjoyed getting out and especially around a time of year when we normally start to hibernate. It gave us the boost we sorely needed. After the challenge, we continued walking throughout the winter and we've been walking ever since, thanks to this community."

"I finally visited Nose Hill Park for the first time in 36 years — all because I saw posts in the Parks of Calgary community!
I’ve come to realize that our city has amazing green spaces and quiet natural spots without leaving the city limits. While I was aware of many of these spaces before, Parks of Calgary has been invaluable in helping me discover and visit more of these gems.
Kelsey inspires our community to get out and explore these special green spaces. Her challenges motivate us to soak up time in nature which I truly feel is so important to our health. Even though I’ve lived in Calgary for decades, I know there is still so much to be explored."

"The walking challenges are always so fun, and the photo challenges encouraged me to be creative — it especially built my confidence when I won one!
I’ve been following Parks of Calgary for YEARS, and I love their content. It motivates me to get outside, explore the city, and take photos of my own. I’m so grateful for this, and to have learned more about our YYC parks and city trails from them!"

"Although we've lived here for decades, Parks of Calgary opened our eyes to all the fun and exciting places to explore and things to do in and around Calgary.
During the pandemic, my family was looking for more activities to do outside. At the time, we didn’t venture far from home (like most people we know). Although things are back to “normal” now, I continue to learn, explore and share with Park of Calgary.
I like that this page showcases a mix of personal experiences as well as those from other adventurers to highlight the great outdoors in our beautiful city. I love seeing what’s out there and I truly enjoy sharing my outdoor adventures with this community."
